Completing vs Mastering a Hero Challenge
In order to earn an L2B Badge, a Learner must COMPLETE 5 L2B Hero Challenges in addition to completing a Reflection Survey and Reflection Video.
Here's how to tell if something is Incomplete, Complete or Mastered...
INCOMPLETE:
Learner did not fill out required sections and/or answer required question(s) with Excellence.
For example, if part of the Challenge was to deliver at least 1 GMP each day at Landing and they didn’t fill out the date or update their daily status on one of the days, then they did NOT COMPLETE the Challenge.
For example, if they delivered at least 1 GMP each day at Landing but did not answer one of the Reflection Questions, then they did NOT COMPLETE the Challenge.
For example, if they delivered at least 1 GMP each day at Landing and answered all Reflection Questions, but you can’t read their handwriting and it just looks like a bunch of scribbles, then they did NOT COMPLETE the Challenge.
COMPLETE:
Learner has filled out all required sections and/or answered every required question with Excellence.
For example, if part of the Challenge was to deliver at least 1 GMP each day at Landing, and the Learner forgot to do this on Wednesday…but they wrote Wednesday’s date on the Day 3 line and wrote “I forgot to do this!” next to Wednesday’s Daily Status, then it would still count as Complete if they still filled out all of the other required sections and answered all required questions.
MASTERED:
Learner has filled out all required sections
and/or answered every required question with Excellence AND met all
Challenge requirements.
For example, if part of the Challenge was to deliver at least 1 GMP each day at Landing, and the Learner documented that they delivered at least 1 GMP each day (M, T, W, Th, F) and completed all other required sections/questions, then it would count as Mastered.
Leveling Up
NOTE: You can do the same Challenge more than once BUT....you must demonstrate that you've leveled up for it to count.
See the Hero Level-Up Decision Map
for details. Leveling up is all about raising Excellence each time you
do something. Doing the same Hero Challenge over and over again with
no improvement is NOT Excellent and NOT Heroic – and is a huge waste of
your time (and everyone else’s).
Examples of how you might Level Up after finishing a Hero Challenge:
Examples of how you might Level Up after finishing a Hero Challenge:
- If you didn’t Complete it last time → COMPLETE IT this time.
- If you Completed it but didn’t Master it last time → MASTER IT this time.
- If you Mastered it last time → do it again but set MORE DIFFICULT GOALS this time.
- If you Mastered it last time → FOCUS ON A DIFFERENT AREA that you want to grow this time.
